DVM F694; Aquatic Animal and Environmental Health
Course in the infectious and non-infectious challenges to wild and aquaculture-raised aquatic animals. Teaching is focused on the fish and invertebrates of Alaska, but with a global outlook, and touching on the full spectrum of aquatic organisms, from mammals to mariculture. This class aims to provide students with the knowledge and problem-solving skills to recognize and address disease in aquatic species. These are important skills in a changing environment, whether applied in research, management or directly in animal health fields by fish health professionals.
Students within the fields of veterinary medicine, fisheries, marine biology, one health and beyond are encouraged to apply.
